If you're here, I'm guessing this isn't your first attempt at changing your situation.

You probably told your wife that you're trying, and honestly, you are, but you're not seeing progress in the ways that make you have to stop apologizing at home.

And the guilt that you've been feeling hasn't shifted in the way that you'd like for all the effort that you've put in.

Maybe you've even started making changes but then something unexpected happened at work it threw you off.

I know that cycle because I lived it.

For a long time, I thought I needed better discipline.
But the truth is, if discipline alone could have fixed it, we wouldn't be having this conversation right now, because you're probably one of the most disciplined people that you've ever met.

Which is what makes being stuck in a situation all the more frustrating.

That's what these conversations are for.
Not another pep talk.

I've sat where you're sitting, and I'm not going to tell you to quit, and I'm not going to tell you that you have to stay.

But I know there's only so much time you can spend trying to fix the situation before the people that you're doing it for stop believing that you are.

Private Leadership Coaching

You owe it to yourself to see progress right now, not after the project ends, not after the next promotion, now, today.

When you're ready to change your life (and the lives of those counting on you), speed matters.

Waiting usually has a price.

You can keep waiting for the right time.

Or you can decide this is it.

Right now, work probably decides more of your (and your family's) life than you do.

It decides whether you'll make it home this weekend. Whether you'll miss another game.

Part of you wonders how you got here. You love your job, and you're good at it. You love your family, and you're good at being a husband and a father, but right now it feels like being in quicksand. Someone is always unhappy, including you, and the pressure is starting to feel unbearable.

Men were often taught that our ambition towards work is bad. That good husbands and fathers are fulfilled by their family and not by a job, but imagine saying that to a mom.

That now that she's a mom, her dreams don't matter.
We would never say that, yet we say versions of it to men all the time.

The problem isn't your ambition.

The problem is that you've been following a set of rules that only gave you one answer if things weren't going the way that you wanted: work more.

If you're here, you're probably starting to realize that answer isn't working anymore.

The good news?

That doesn't mean you're trapped.
It doesn't mean you have to quit your job.

And it doesn't mean you'll keep feeling like you're failing the people you care about most.

It just means there's another way to do this.
That's what The Modern Provider Code is about.

Every company talks about leadership.
About retention.
And about safety.

After almost twenty years in the field, I don't think those are separate conversations. I've sat in enough site trailers and walked enough job sites to know this:

The hardest part of leading people usually isn't the work. It's everything they carried through the gate that morning.

I've watched a foreman who's normally steady lose his patience because things at home were falling apart.

I've watched the best guys on the field check out long before they handed in their notice.

I've watched leaders put more pressure on themselves because they honestly didn't know another way to solve the problem.

We spend a lot of time teaching people how to manage projects. We spend a lot less time teaching them how to carry the responsibility that comes with them.

That's the gap I'm interested in.

During my career, I had the opportunity to lead complex pipeline projects, develop crews, and work alongside some incredible people. I also went four consecutive years without a recordable safety incident, something I'm incredibly proud of because it was never about luck. It was about culture, communication, and looking out for one another.

What I'm proudest of, though, isn't a project.

It's getting a phone call years later from someone who stepped into a leadership role because somebody believed they were capable of more.

Over the years, I've continued learning from mentors like Brendan Burchard and Tony Robbins, but every lesson I teach has been tested somewhere I care about.

On a jobsite.
In a hotel room.
Or around my own dinner table.

If I come and work with your team, I'm not bringing a motivational speech.

I'm bringing conversations and tools that help leaders think differently, communicate better, and carry pressure in a way that makes them stronger at work without it costing them everything outside of it.

The superintendent missed something he normally would've caught, because part of his attention never made it to work that morning.

An employee who's been sleeping in a hotel for the last 18 days doesn't walk onto the jobsite with the same mental load as someone who had breakfast with his family that morning.

The most dangerous distraction on a jobsite isn't always on the jobsite.

You don't have a leadership problem.

You have leaders carrying pressures most leadership training never prepares them for.

You'd rather make fun of growth than take an honest look at yourself..

You're waiting for the next promotion, the next project, or retirement to fix your relationships.

You think leadership starts and ends with the title on your hard hat.

You might not be ready to break ground if...

You're willing to learn the same way you did when you became good at your trade.

You take pride in building things that last and want the same for your marriage and family.

You want practical tools you can use Monday morning, not motivation that disappears by Tuesday

This is the right fit for you if...

You're the guy who's always talking about how the site should be run but never takes ownership of the piece he's standing on.

You aren't willing to challenge the beliefs that got you where you are.

You believe providing starts and ends with a paycheck.

You've built a career you're proud of, and you're not looking for someone to tell you to throw twenty years away.

You've started realizing the life you built isn't the same as the life you want to experience.

You're willing to look at yourself before blaming your job, your spouse, or your circumstances.

The discipline.
The work ethic.
The willingness to learn.
They're already in you.

You don't have to have it all figured out before you apply, but you have to be willing to stop building your future with yesterday's playbook.
